Challenges
- Escalating operational expenditures due to complete reliance on a cloud-based VDI environment.
- Performance inconsistencies impacting the productivity of a large remote workforce.
- The need for a cost-optimized and scalable solution.
- Requirement to maintain stringent security standards.
- Ensuring business continuity with a 99.9% uptime requirement.
- The critical objective of simplifying cloud infrastructure management.
- Necessity for zero downtime during the migration to avoid disrupting the operations of over 2,500 remote users.
Anunta’s Solution
- Successfully executed a phased migration from the client’s existing cloud-based VDI to a resilient, hybrid-ready on-premises infrastructure.
- Built a robust on-premises VDI environment comprising:
- A 16-server cluster with N+1 architecture
- Allocation of 4 vCPUs, 16GB RAM, and 150GB storage per user
- Integrated the client’s existing cloud VDI control plane with the new on-premises setup to ensure uninterrupted user experience.
- Implemented a phased rollout with continuous testing and adjustments to minimize user disruption.
- Designed a hybrid cloud architecture enabling workload scaling between on-premises and cloud environments.
- Incorporated:
- Proactive autoscaling
- Secure internet routing
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
- Endpoint validation
- Seamlessly integrated existing security tools into the new solution.
